MCF: Friendship Games
Chapter 3: Meeting with Martin
Tracy nervously entered the office looking around a bit and then at the desk. “You wanted to see me Ms. Martin?” Martin turned around and faced Tracy narrowing her eyes at her.
“Miss. Romanov. As long as you are at this school you will call me Principal Martin.” She said tapping her fingers on her desk irritably.
Tracy glared at her. “Of course Principal Mart-” Tracy began but the principal cut her off.
“And as a student, if only temporarily, I request that you take the opportunity to join Cartoon Prep’s team for the Friendship Games. Your GPA clearly shows that you’d have no problem taking on the competition. At least, considering your school...” Tracy’s eyes widened and glared at her angrily.
?” Tracy asked annoyed. “Are you saying you want me
to compete in the Friendship Games? For your school?”
“Rather dull for some with a 3.9...” Martin muttered. Tracy sighed.
“Look, I want to compete and win in the Friendship Games, but not when I'm against my school or my friends.” Tracy protested. “Besides, I'm not an official student here.” She added reminding her. Martin looked at her coldly.
aware of why you're here Miss. Romanov. To keep us from using magic in the games, which might add that if you compete you can have a better chance at preventing such shady tactics.” Tracy stared at her completely confused.Doesn’t want to cheat?
Tracy thought to herself wondering what in the world Principal Martin meant by that.
“So... you don't want to cheat in the games?” asked Tracy. Martin looked at her coldly.
“Of course not. We never needed to before and we have seldom lost until...well you know. But I suppose such paranoia is prevalent in Cartoon Town High if they have to send their own students just to make sure we don't cheat.” Tracy’s eyes widened.
“They're not paranoid! We-” Tracy started to protest but Martin’s cold expression never changed.
“Besides the pressure your school is going through to point of banning your fellow members and magic users from competing...” Tracy looked at this stunned.
” Tracy asked surprised at the news of her friends not participating this year. “They kicked them off?” My friends aren’t competing this year? Then whose going to replace them?
Tracy thought to herself. Martin nodded her head.
“Of course, your Principal Coulson and I agreed on your transfer only, and only if, the magic users on the team aren’t allowed to compete this year.” Tracy looked at this confused. If her friends and sister aren’t allowed to compete. Then why does she want her to compete? She had magic too...
“But I’m..” Martin interrupted her looking at her coldly.
“A naive young girl who is taking this mission as a way of redemption. We agree that as long as you're keeping magic out of the games then you'll keep yours under control. Are we clear Miss Romanov?” She asked. Tracy crossed her arms clearly not happy with this news.
“So I have no say in this do I?” Tracy asked with distaste.
“Unless of course...you don’t
want to redeem yourself...” Tracy looked down in thought and then at Martin.
“I’ll do it. On one condition. If I catch you trying to hurt my friends like you did with Skyla. Then I’m out of the Games.” Tracy said glaring at her.
“You have my word.” Martin said with a smile.
“Then you have yourself a new teammate.” Tracy said. “Excellent. You are free to go now.” Tracy looked at Martin one last time closely before leaving. As Tracy closed the door her eyes silently swearing to herself.
“Please don’t let me regret this...” Tracy muttered to herself leaning against the door. “I really need this chance to prove myself...I don’t want things to go horribly wrong like they did last time with Light..” Tracy then sighed as she headed in the direction for her next class reminding herself to check in with the girls later.
Tracy carefully walked the halls of Cartoon Prep as she tried to carefully move pass each student that was trying to get to their class or somewhere else to get to her own class. Tracy frowned wondering there were this many students out. From the look of the students they seem to be going into one direction but she wasn’t sure why. She suddenly felt a shove causing Tracy to fell down on her back and some of her books have fallen out of her bag. A hand stretched out at Tracy who was rubbing her back from the pain. She looked over seeing the hand she looked up to see who it belonged to and saw a girl around her age wearing an identical uniform to her but she had short blonde hair and dark blue eyes.
“Need any help?” the girl asked. Tracy frowned confused.
“Um...are you talking to me?” Tracy asked.
“Do you see anyone else on the floor?” Tracy hesitated for a moment. After a thought she took the girl’s hands and slowly got up and looked at the blonde confused.
“Lily. Lily Richards.” Lily said. Tracy smiled.
“Tracy Romanov.” Tracy said. Lily smirked crossing her arms.
“Ah so you’re the Cartoon High transfer. I’ve heard rumors about you. You’re with the Mystery Case Files. Aren’t you? I also heard you were on a case is that true?” Tracy nodded.
“All of that’s true.” Tracy said as she frowned confused by the way Lily was treating her. “But why did you help me instead of treating me like how the rest of the school is treating me? And why didn’t you help Skyla?” Lily chuckled.
”Not all Cartoon Prep students are cold and cruel.” Lily told her. “Some of us are actually nicer than you think. It’s Angela and her friends you really have to watch out for. And as for Thatch...well...I wish I had been her friend I’m glad she’s off at Cartoon Town High.” Tracy nodded her head and frowned.
?” Tracy asked confused Where have I heard that name before?
She asked. Lily looked at her.
“Angela Peota. You really don’t want to cross her. She’s the adopted daughter of Jafar and she rules this school and will until she graduates.” Tracy swore to herself.
“Damn I forgot Angela goes here.” Tracy said. Lily raised an eyebrow.
“I take it you know her?” Tracy scoffed.
”She’s an enemy of me and my friends. Reminds me a bit of my cousin Shirona.” Tracy explained. “I am not even sure if she knows I’m here...though if she did...she’d probably make my time here miserable as possible until this case is over.”
“That’s Angela for you.” Lily said. Tracy nodded her head in agreement.
“Where is everyone going? I thought people had class right now.” Tracy asked confused. Lily raised an eyebrow.
“Didn’t you hear Principal Martin’s announcement a few minutes ago?” asked Lily. Tracy shook her head and looked at her nervously. “Um...I was trying to focus on getting to my class. I didn’t hear her...” Lily sighed.
“You better not let Ms. Martin hear this..What class were you headed too?” Tracy looked at her notebook and opened it with her schedule taped inside of it and looked at her classes. “Sociology. I’m trying to join the force. I got a hands on experience during my last trip to Japan.” Tracy said. “Do you know how to get to the Gym from here?” Lily stared at Tracy in disbelief.
“You really are new...we hold our assemblies in the auditorium.” Lily said. “Come on...you can sit next to me.” Lily said as Tracy smiled.Maybe...this mission won’t be too bad...
Tracy thought to herself as she followed Lily to the direction of the auditorium.
“As you all know this year is the Friendship Games and for those who had not participated the year prior, the event goes as such for a representation of our strength, intelligence, and overall superiority as one the best schools in the country. However, given what happened last year, Cartoon Town High is going out of its way to determine that absolutely no
magic is to be used at the Games.” said Principal Martin coldly standing as a collective amount of groans sneak out among the students. Some of them were staring at Tracy who tried to ignore the glares of her temporary classmates and sunk in her seat. “And by doing so they have decided to transfer one of their students.” Whispers broke out among the students as Tracy felt a bit uneasy as she noticed some students scowl at her with hate. Tracy gulped nervously as she turned her attention back to Principal Martin. Was this...how Tricia felt..when Shirona and her posse bullied her?
Tracy thought to herself wondering what it could have been like if she had been in Tricia’s position...and Tricia was in hers...
“However, unlike the year before, this will be a fair competition,” Tracy’s eyes widen at the statement. Fair?
They didn't mean for that to happen! Nor did Skyla! Tracy couldn’t believe Martin is still making claims like it wasn’t her or her students fault for what happened last year....Now none of her friends can play and it was all because of Martin and her students.
“...So with further stalling I present the members of the Shadowtoons. Our first member is the leader, Angela Peota.” Tracy watched glaring at the adopted daughter Jafar who walked up with a smug look on her face.
“Jessica Barnes.” Tracy looked at the girl with glasses and purple hair.I swear I think I’ve seen this girl at the games last year.
Tracy thought watching the girl with the purple hair and glasses walk up next to Mendy.
“Mendy Grayson...” Tracy looked at the girl that always tried to get Sasuke to fall in love with her in surprise.Mendy goes go to this school?! Who else goes?
Tracy thought in disgust turning her attention back to Martin.
“Athena Jones.”Athena too...?
She thought as she watched the brown hair girl with dark blue eyes walk up with a grin on her face.
“Tokai Enkai.”Tokai goes to this school too? Great who else goes?
She complained in her thoughts crossing her arms.
Tracy thought in shock as the black haired and blue eyed girl walked up to the stage standing next to Tokai.
“Our next member is...Tracy Romanov.” Tracy nervously walks up on the stage to her new teammates. No one said a single word except glared at Tracy with hatred. Tracy looked down as Principal Martin said the last few members. Tracy turned to her fellow teammates who looked rather surprised by the fact that Tracy was here of all people. So much for playing fair if Martin lets Angela, Tokai, Mendy, Jessica, Kelly, Athena and me participate...
Tracy thought as Principal Martin finished announcing the final members she was so lost in her own thoughts and trying to avoid the glares of her teammates and fellow students she didn't even pay attention to Principal Martin's final words.
“Good luck to all of you...you are all dismissed.” Tracy looked at her teammates nervously and smiled who stared at her with smiles upon their faces. “Um...if you’ll excuse me...I...I got to get to class.”
“Yes...that is a good idea Miss Romanov. A very
good idea indeed.” Principal Martin said as Tracy looked at them unsure and then slowly walked through them to the doors and headed to find her next class.I have to call the girls they need to know whose competing this year...
Tracy thought to herself as Principal Martin smiled at her with her eyes focused on Tracy. Angela, Jessica, Athena, Tokai, and Kelly looked at Tracy and then at Principal Martin.
“Miss Peota...would you be a dear and please watch over Miss Romanov for me? I need you to steer her away from the Mystery Case Files upon arrival if we are to bring Cartoon Prep back to its former glory and Miss Romanov a permanent member of this school...” Principal Martin asked.
“It would be my pleasure Principal Martin.” Angela said with an evil smile upon her face.
“Excellent..Once Miss Romanov joins Cartoon Prep and helps us win this years Friendship Games. My reputation will finally be restored once more. And Cartoon High will be back where it belongs.” Principal Martin said smiling and chuckled evilly already envisioning how bright hers and the school’s future will be once they win the Friendship Games and Tracy is an official member of Cartoon Prep.
